Simon Laux

Hi, I'm Simon, a software developer based in Germany who works mostly on open-source, privacy-respecting tools. For the last several years much of my work has been on Delta Chat - a decentralized and encrypted messenger that uses the existing email infrastructure as its transport layer - and its ecosystem of webxdc mini apps. I've contributed across the Rust core, the Electron/React desktop client, and webview isolation for the mini apps; in 2025 I led the effort to port the desktop client to Tauri.
